Flag of the Japanese language

Japanese is the language of Japan, a country of strong tradition and advanced technology, and of a culture that attracts many Brazilians, from anime and manga to cuisine, along with the large Nikkei community in Brazil.

For Portuguese speakers

The writing combines three systems: hiragana, katakana and kanji. The sentence has the verb at the end, particles mark the function of each word, and politeness changes the verb forms. On the other hand, the pronunciation is regular and the verb doesn't change by person or gender.

  • Hiragana, katakana and kanji with romaji
  • Particles and sentence order
  • Everyday politeness levels
