Flag of the Esperanto language

Esperanto is a planned language, created by L. L. Zamenhof and presented to the world in 1887, with the aim of being an international auxiliary language, easy to learn and neutral among peoples.

For Portuguese speakers

The grammar is extremely regular: no exceptions in verbs, no grammatical gender and fixed endings that indicate the function of words (nouns in -o, adjectives in -a, adverbs in -e). Portuguese speakers recognize a good part of the vocabulary, which has Latin roots.

  • Endings that show a word's function
  • Affixes that form new words
  • Grammar without exceptions, ideal for beginners
